Reliability In-The Field Insights
Today we are excited to share a new resource for industry professionals: Reliability In-The-Field, a dedicated page packed with actionable insights and expert guidance on asset reliability. This growing collection of over 100 video posts, produced by Stuart Walker and the RMS team, is now available to help engineers, maintenance managers, and asset reliability professionals optimise asset performance, troubleshoot issues, and stay ahead of the curve with industry trends.
Why “Reliability In-The-Field”?
Our goal in creating the collection of Reliability Insights is to help educate industry professionals, enhance asset management practices, and showcase RMS’s dedication to delivering actionable insights. Reliability is at the core of effective asset management, and through these real-world case examples, we provide an easy-to-access knowledge base to support professionals in tackling the complex challenges within their field.
What to Expect on the Page
The Reliability In-The-Field page is structured for easy navigation, helping visitors quickly locate insights most relevant to their interests. Videos are organised across three major categories, each offering a different facet of reliability expertise:
- Asset Type: Assets vary in function and present specific maintenance challenges. This category offers targeted insights into a range of asset types, from rotating equipment and pumps to HVAC systems. Whether managing machinery critical to manufacturing or environmental systems, users will find content addressing the unique reliability needs of each type. Visitors can learn more about monitoring, assessing, and maintaining each asset effectively, understanding nuances that impact performance and longevity.
- Asset Condition: Focusing on diagnosing asset conditions, this category covers topics like resonance, imbalance, and misalignment. Condition-specific videos provide insights into identifying and addressing issues early. Diagnostics and case studies highlight warning signs and optimal technologies for each condition. For example, vibration analysis detects resonance issues and wireless sensors support predictive maintenance on critical assets to prevent costly downtime.
- Industry: Each industry faces unique reliability challenges based on environment, operations, and specific machinery. Videos here provide insights that help professionals address sector-specific reliability demands. In manufacturing, energy, water management, or pharmaceuticals, visitors will find content relevant to their conditions and assets, ensuring solutions are both compliant and efficient within their industry’s regulatory and operational contexts.
Insights from Stuart Walker & the RMS Team
Stuart Walker has been a consistent source of reliability insights across social channels, especially on YouTube and LinkedIn, over the past ten years. His expertise has helped thousands of professionals access the knowledge needed to understand and address complex asset issues. As Stuart continues to build the ‘Reliability In-The-Field’ offering, RMS will also bring in contributions from other team members, ensuring a continually growing pool of expert content.
Featured Examples: Real-World Applications
Reliability In-The-Field includes a wide range of posts, from introductory topics to deep-dive technical analysis. Here are some examples of the content you can expect:
- Confirming HVAC Fan Balance Issues with Multiple Technologies: This post demonstrates how vibration analysis and other tools can pinpoint balance issues, enabling maintenance teams to proactively address faults before they lead to more significant disruptions.
- Identifying and Fixing Resonance Problems in Cooling Water Pumps: Resonance can be a tricky problem in rotating machinery, and this video explores methods for identifying and correcting these issues, ensuring pumps continue to operate efficiently and safely.
- Understanding Bearing Defect Frequencies with Motion Amplification: Motion Amplification technology helps visualize defects in bearings, allowing for a level of diagnostic precision that would be challenging to achieve with other methods.
These examples illustrate the diverse array of reliability issues and solutions covered on the page, allowing visitors to learn from real-world scenarios that mirror the challenges they face daily.
Built for Continuous Learning
As the reliability landscape evolves, so too will our content. Reliability In-The-Field will be regularly updated, not only with new insights from Stuart Walker but also contributions from other RMS team members. This ensures that users will always have access to the latest techniques, technologies, and best practices.

Easy-Laser® Shaft & Belt Alignment Solutions
RMS takes pride in recommending high quality Condition Monitoring solutions that are fit-for purpose. The range of Easy-Laser® alignment solutions fit the bill perfectly!
COLCHESTER, UK, October 16, 2024. Today we’re excited to announce a new partnership as an approved reseller of Easy-Laser® products, offering advanced Shaft Alignment and Belt Alignment solutions. This collaboration marks a key step in helping our customers maximise equipment reliability and efficiency with cutting-edge alignment technology.
Easy-Laser® is a world leader in laser measurement systems, known for their precision and ease of use. But they don’t just focus on achieving perfect alignment. Their true value lies in improving productivity and resource efficiency. Whether it’s minimising energy waste, reducing wear, or extending the life of your machinery, Easy-Laser® delivers results that directly impact your bottom line.
At RMS, we’re always looking for ways to help our clients achieve improved operations and less downtime. By adding Easy-Laser® solutions to our alignment offerings, we can now provide even more powerful tools to get the job done right.
Shaft Alignment and Belt Alignment Solutions
Misalignment is a major cause of excessive vibration, wear, and unplanned downtime. The Easy-Laser Shaft Alignment tools ensure that rotating machinery—like pumps and motors—are perfectly aligned. This reduces vibration, protects bearings and seals, and ultimately saves you from costly repairs and breakdowns.
Similarly, the Belt Alignment tools are designed to ensure belt-driven machinery is properly aligned. When belts aren’t aligned, they wear out faster, leading to inefficiency and frequent maintenance. Easy-Laser’s systems make sure that doesn’t happen, optimising performance and reducing energy consumption.
Both tools are designed to be easy to use, fast to set up, and highly accurate. This means your maintenance teams can spend less time troubleshooting and more time keeping things running smoothly.
What Easy-Laser® Brings to Your Operations
Easy-Laser® understands that what matters most is the bigger picture. It’s not just about aligning components, it’s about what proper alignment means for your entire operation. When everything is aligned correctly:
- Downtime drops because machines don’t break down as often.
- Energy costs decrease because misaligned machines consume more energy to run.
- Equipment lasts longer because less wear and tear leads to fewer replacements and repairs.
- Productivity improves because when equipment runs efficiently, so does your business.
RMS and Easy-Laser®: A Partnership That Delivers
We’re thrilled to offer our clients Easy-Laser®’s world-class technology. Their solutions fit perfectly with our mission of delivering reliability tools that prevent problems before they happen. Together, we’re making sure our customers have everything they need to keep their operations running at peak performance.
“This partnership with Easy-Laser® lets us bring even more value to our clients,” said Stuart Walker, Director at RMS. “By reducing energy waste, extending equipment life, and improving overall productivity, their alignment systems provide the exact solutions our clients need to stay ahead.”
For more details on Easy-Laser® solutions and how they can benefit your operation, check out the Product Page or contact the RMS team.
