Hybrid Training Solutions for Condition Monitoring and Reliability Professionals
Hybrid Training Solutions
Training announcement
Background
Traditionally, and for more than 15 years, the RMS Reliability Training Institute (RTI) has offered Condition Monitoring and Reliability public hotel-based and private onsite courses, predominantly in the UK and Ireland. With the arrival of COVID19 back in March 2020, everything changed for the training and events industry. Organisations were required to adhere to government policy which excluded training in groups for much of 2020. Students also began questioning whether they wanted to attend a traditional course in a classroom setting.
Online self-paced
Presented with such instant and dramatic changes to the normal way of delivering Training, the RTI, together with support from its partners BINDT and the Mobius Institute, developed a new study variation to support both organisations and students. Taking the Mobius self-paced video courses, the RTI added, at no extra cost, an online community space to meet others studying at that level. The community offers regular live calls and options to arrange personal mentoring with the instructor.
Virtual Instructor-led
In the latter part of 2020, the RTI further invested in the online study variation as a response to continued hotel-based course disruption, offering a Virtual Instructor-led course. The first of this course type was offered in early 2021 and the RTI has now successfully completed a number of virtual instructor-led courses, all with very positive student feedback.
“What we’ve learnt over the time is that some students can and want to study on a public hotel-based course, and are prepared to wait for that opportunity. Others can’t attend, for a multitude of reasons, or their personal study preference is online self-paced or virtual study.” – Dean Whittle, Training Manager
Hybrid Training
Today, the RTI is pleased to announce a new ‘trial’ virtual-study variation, Hybrid Training. For those who want, and can attend the public course, that’s great. For those who can’t attend in person, you’ll now be able to join the same hotel-based course, albeit virtually, and in accordance with the virtual instructor-led requirements.
Initially, the Hybrid Training offering is available for the September Vibration Analysis (VA) CAT-I course, and all being well, we’ll also offer it for the VA CAT-II in October, the VA CAT-III in November and the VA CAT-I in December, with a view to making it a permanent feature for all courses in 2022.
Virtual seats on the first Hybrid Training course in September are limited to six students and seats are allocated on a first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment or deferment, please register early.
