“The new add-on Tach Sync feature for the IRIS M Motion Amplification is really proving its worth. We put reflective tape on the shaft and the MA camera syncs to the 1XRPM using a laser Tach. It’s designed to measure and visualize non-sync frequencies (more on that in another post).

In this example, we found it’s great for shaft inspection too! While investigating Dyno bearings, we captured the inner bearing sleeve spinning on the shaft. Excessive fretting was confirmed. This bearing setup is not fit for this application due to the rotational speed and fit tolerance.” — Stuart Walker
