Who should attend

RMS provides comprehensive Motion Amplification® training, guiding participants through the basic and advanced features of the IRIS M™ kit and its software functionalities. Under the guidance of accredited trainers, students gain hands-on experience. Upon successful exam completion, participants achieve Motion Amplification® certification. This training is available for those who have purchased an IRIS M™ system and who are keen to refine their motion amplification expertise. For the Advanced course, a VA CAT-I certification is strongly advised.

Course details & examinations

Basic:

  • Comprehensive Understanding: Gain a thorough overview and understanding of Motion Amplification®, including its applications and significance in the field.
  • Hands-on Experience: Acquire practical skills using real equipment, ensuring that you’re ready to apply your knowledge in real-world scenarios upon completion.
  • Certification: Earn the Level 1 Motion Amplification certification, validating your expertise and opening up more professional opportunities.
  • Networking: Engage with industry professionals, share experiences, and expand your professional network during the training sessions.

Advanced:

  • Deep Dive into Advanced Topics: Natural Frequency Testing, Advanced Data Acquisition, and Advanced Analysis, enhancing your expertise in Motion Amplification®.
  • Practical Application: Engage in hands-on sessions like Video Case Histories and work on class projects, allowing you to apply advanced techniques in real-world scenarios.
  • Level II Certification: Successfully complete the Level II Motion Amplification Certification Exam, further validating your advanced skills in the domain.
  • Collaborative Learning: Benefit from peer interactions, view student videos, and receive feedback, fostering a collaborative learning environment and broadening your perspective.

Public hotel-based

This is a public course for owners of the Iris M/Mx camera.

Pre-course preparation

  • Refresh Vibration Analysis theory
  • Email confirmation sent with hotel details
  • Printed course materials are given out on the first day
  • All course dates must be attended at the times agreed
  • 3 days for Basic, 3 days for Advanced

Technology requirements

You will bring your complete Iris M™ Motion Amplification® system including portable lights.

Daily program

The training starts at 8 am. We aim to finish before 5 pm. Morning coffee, afternoon tea and lunch are provided on each day. Hotels fees are not included.

Examinations and results

Basic: 2 hrs (multi-choice. 60 Q’s. Closed book. Pass: 70%).
Advanced: 3 hrs (multi-choice. 100 Q’s. Closed book. Pass: 70%).

  8. IF A CANDIDATE DOES NOT ATTEND THE COURSE AND WE HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE OR WE ARE GIVEN LESS THAN 1 WEEKS NOTICE THEN THE FULL COURSE FEE WOULD BE PAYABLE.
  9. STUDENTS ATTENDING HOTEL-BASED COURSES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING THEIR ACCOMODATION AND ALL HOTEL COSTS.

Languages

We would assume that as the course and exam are delivered in English, your level of spoken and written English is sufficient for you to be able to attend the course and take the exam. If English is not your first language we can apply for extra time in advance of the course. Please notify us as soon as possible if there is any other reason why you need extra time in the exam (eg. Dyslexia), so we can see if we can arrange extra time for you in the exam. The exam body will need to be contacted to arrange this.

FAQs: Motion Amplification Training

The Basic Motion Amplification® Certification Training covers introductions, an overview of Motion Amplification®, camera, lighting, and lenses, introduction to Motion Explorer, RDI Acquisition, and more. The training spans over three days, with hands-on sessions, breaks, and a class dinner on the second day.

The Advanced Training delves deeper into topics like Motion Explorer Review, Forcing Functions of Rotating Machinery, Piping, Advanced Data Acquisition, Natural Frequency Testing, and Advanced Analysis. The training also includes a Level II Motion Amplification® Certification Exam on the third day.

Yes, both the Basic and Advanced Motion Amplification® Training sessions conclude with a certification exam. The Basic Training includes the Level I Motion Amplification® Certification Exam, while the Advanced Training culminates in the Level II Motion Amplification® Certification Exam on the third day.
