Infrared Thermography Courses
RMS is an ‘independent’ UK-based CBM course provider with 20 years experience delivering accredited courses approved by Mobius Institute (MIBoC) and British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT). Our Infrared Thermography courses (CAT I, CAT II, CAT III) are aligned with ISO 18436-7 quality standards.
If you have been performing Infrared Thermography for one year or more, or if you have been collecting Infrared readings and leaving the analysis to another person, then this course is for you. The Infrared Thermography course is also designed for reliability engineers, PdM program managers, and other maintenance staff who would like to understand condition monitoring with a focus on thermography, and take the ISO or ASNT exam.
The course is an essential mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Working from the Level 1 course guide, students are exposed to infrared thermography and how it is applied to the inspection disciplines demanded by an effective thermographic program. In accordance with ISO 18436-7 standard there is a mixture of classroom training and practical exercises with an optional 2-hour Certification exam.
You will come away with a solid understanding of why we monitor the condition of rotating machinery (and other critical assets), the importance of improved reliability, and how the Infrared can be successfully measured and analysed to provide an early warning of a wide range of fault conditions.
You won’t come away as an expert; that’s what our more advanced courses are for. But you will know enough to make a valuable contribution to an existing program; be in a position to start a new program; determine if you should implement a program at your site; or better understand the program that exists in your plant. The Reliability Institute’s Infrared Instructors are Micky Jackson and Dean Whittle.

PUBLIC
HOTEL OR VIRTUAL
Public Infrared Thermography courses are 4 to 5 days in length, including a day for review and the exam, and are intended for people who have mastered the basics, but who need to be able to take good data (and decide how the data collector should be set up); analyse a range of thermographic fault conditions.
PRIVATE
ONSITE OR VIRTUAL
Onsite Infrared Thermography courses give the ability to connect the classroom theory with the onsite practical in a personal context. We offer all courses onsite and in a wide range of topics. For availability and pricing please contact the team for a personalised quote. The minimum requirement for onsite courses is 5 students.
SELF-PACED ONLINE

Excellent instructor
The IRT course was well structured and the Instructor was very passionate about the topic. There was lots to learn in 4 days! The examination reflected the course content and I was pleased to gain ISO certification!

Clearly explained
As a relative novice to thermography I feel much more confident after the course and the amount of knowledge I gained in the week was incredible. It was an excellent course. Thanks for all the extra help.
